Garage door repairs
Finding out why a door sticks, jams, grinds or sits crooked, then repairing the tracks, rollers, hinges, panels, springs or opener.
Repairs and servicing for roll-up doors that stick, drop, rattle, run crooked or have come out of their guides.
A roller door is a single curtain of corrugated steel that rolls up onto a drum above the opening. Springs inside the drum help balance the weight so the door can be lifted by hand or by a motor, and the curtain runs in a guide on each side. Because the parts are simple, many roller door faults can be repaired rather than replaced. If you want a new roller door rather than a repair, see new doors and installation.
Simple care between services helps:
B&D recommends a service in the first 12 months after installation and every two years after that (B&D).
Wind-rated garage doors are tested to resist higher wind loads under AS/NZS 4505 (Standards Australia). House wind classes run from N1 to N6 in non-cyclonic regions and C1 to C4 in cyclonic regions (Steel-Line, citing AS 4055). Toowoomba's recent storms included high winds and widespread outages (Toowoomba Regional Council). If your roller door has blown out of its guides before, ask the technician whether a wind-rated door suits your home and which wind class applies to your property.
Published estimates suggest roller doors cost less than sectional doors. They put a single manual roller door, installed, at around $900 to $2,200 and a single automatic roller door at $1,200 to $3,500 (What's The Damage?, Brisbane, October 2026). B&D's own guide puts a single roller door at about $2,000 to $3,500 for the door only, before installation (B&D price guide). That gap is a good reason to get a written quote. If the curtain is badly damaged or the door is old and worn, ask for both a repair price and a replacement price.
Published ranges for roller door work are in the garage door price guide. When you are ready, request a roller door quote and an independent Toowoomba technician will contact you.
